Paris is Josh’s 87th unofficial collaboration inspired by his trip to France. This painting reflects my experience of Paris as a place of emotional contrast. Two figures share the same city and the same moment, yet carry opposing states of being, one joyful, one heavy. Together, they represent the simultaneous highs and lows I felt while there, excitement and doubt, wonder and loneliness, existing side by side.
Rather than choosing one emotion over the other, the work embraces their coexistence. It speaks to the quiet truth that we can hold conflicting feelings at the same time, and that duality is often where honesty and humanity live.
