Ruminating 2023

Ruminating 2023 is part of an annual ongoing series. Each year I save up my used paint palettes and in the new year I rip them up and make something new out of them! I take the time  of ripping them up to ruminate on the year and distill down the most important aspects of the year into a single image. For 2023 I went with a pelican for many personal reasons but with the added symbolism of focus, persistence, and self-initiation that ring true in capturing the 2023 year.
